The Aquatic program runs May through August of each year.
Swim lessons are offered in two week sessions that run Monday-Thursday. Each session is taught for 40 minutes.
Instructors will test on the first day of class to confirm each child is placed in the correct level.
Fees: $45 for residents, $50 non-residents
Class Ratio: Tiny Tots: 1 instructor per 4 students
Beginner: 1 instructor per 6 students
Advanced: 1 instructor per 8 students

Class Descriptions
Parent/Baby: This course is designed for the 6month to 36 month old. A parent or both parents learn how to assist their child in water adjustment with the guidance of an instructor. Swim diapers are required, and a parent is required to be in the water.
Tiny Tot: This course is designed for pre-school, ages 3 – 5 year olds, and for the child who is ready to learn to swim. This is an introductory course that will help your child feel comfortable in the water as well as introduce them to basic water safety and swimming skills. Parents remain out of the water for this course, but can offer support and encouragement. Class ratio 1:4
Beginner (Levels 1-3): Introduction to water skills, Fundamental Aquatic Skills, Stroke Development. The beginner classes are designed to progress from 1 to 3. A student placed in a level 2 class must perform the skills required for level 1. This requirement continues from level to level. Some classes may be combined if the classes are not full. Class ratio 1:6
Advanced Beginner/Intermediate (Levels 4-6): Stroke Improvement and stroke refinement. These courses are for the more advanced swimmer. Skills learned in level 3 will be practiced to build student confidence. Stroke refinement includes additional guided practice. Swimming distances are required to build endurance. These courses require additional pool space, so it is offered only at limited times. Class ratio 1:8.
Private Lessons: Private lessons can be arranged through the Recreation Department, and depending on instructor availability.
