Road Closure Updates

Winter arrived slowly and quietly, with little moisture, some fog, and a lot of sunshine.  Looks like the Central Valley and California are in for a year of drought.  Road construction will continue as long as the weather stays as it is, so be sure to look at this road closure update page periodically to keep you up-to-date on where the construction is planned.  The speed limit in construction areas is 25mph unless otherwise posted.  

Schools are open and kids are riding their bikes or walking to school, while others are taking the School Bus.  Remember when the School Bus stops to pick up or drop off students, you should stop safely behind the Bus until cleared to pass.  Do not pass a School Bus which is displaying a red Stop Sign on the left side of the bus!

It is illegal in the State of California to use your cell phone while driving, that includes talking and texting!  If you must make a call or answer the phone, please pull over when safe and park your vehicle well off the roadway.  Another reminder - replace your windshield wipers, and in California if you are using your wipers then you must have your headlights on.  Not all vehicles have automatic running lights, if yours does, check to see if your tail lights are automatic also because not all running lights include the tail lights.  During foggy weather you are better off if you turn your headlights ON, then you know your tail lights are on as well.
